we are two friends who have been providing resume advice to friends and family for years. We shared in our disappointment when we saw talented people selling their skills short! we created paper kite to expand our reach and help others market their skills to find a job that fits the life they want.

Kelly Cuene

Kelly Cuene began her career as a university career advisor, reviewing thousands of cover letters and resumes for clients across all disciplines, including the liberal arts and business. She has over 15 years of experience in career coaching, leadership development, and human resources and is also a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and trained facilitator for The Leadership Challenge program. She earned her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from NYU and a BA degree in Political Science and Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In her free time Kelly enjoys running, hanging out with her dog, and obsessively managing her library holds.

Wendy Hathaway

Wendy Hathaway is an award-winning writer, editor, and multimedia producer with more than 20 years of experience in marketing and communications. She’s worked in the fields of health care and health insurance, alumni relations, and broadcast journalism and launched her freelance writing business in 2014. Some notable projects include interviewing Songwriters Hall of Fame member Allee Willis for On Wisconsin magazine and reviewing ‘America’s Next Top Model’ for Entertainment Weekly. Wendy has also volunteered for several local nonprofit and social justice organizations and enjoys playing career matchmaker and cheerleader for family and friends. She earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Journalism and in Communications Arts (Radio, TV, Film). Most recently, she worked in archival digitization at the Wisconsin Historical Society and is pursuing a master’s degree in Library and Information Studies at UW-Madison.

Wendy lives in the Madison area with her husband and dog. She’s a fan of pop culture, decluttering projects, traveling, and snacking and is an expert on grammar, voting regulations, and zombie movies.
